Sankari...thanks for the comment. Your comments talk about role-models in general. I normally observe and learn from people around and their actions. But if you want to learn lot of tricks in a particular function/domain, you need someone who is knowledgeable (in that function/domain) and from whom you can learn it..and he should be accessible to you at the time you need. Mentor in career was my need :)

					<description>I see from your previous post that you want a mentor.  I've found that a mentor may not necessarily be one person and the role may not be a formal one.  If you see and interact with someone whose behaviour and intellect you admire, yu may with to ask them to be your mentor.  I did the same and my postgraucte professor and my current boss have both become my mentor (in completely different areas of of my life).  Observation of a colleague/leader may reveal more that they could possibly explay to you.  Watch them closley, analyse and imitate their logic and ssk them pertinent questions.  One of the things that one must never be afraid of is asking for opinions.  be respectful of the reponses you get form them but dont take them at their word: analyse everything!!
